Non-Profit NGO

We Are Joeboentoe

Joeboentoe is a Dutch ANBI-certified non-profit organization that has been active in Uganda since 2014. We focus on job creation, combating hunger, environmental protection, and offering impactful, affordable volunteer opportunities.

Joeboentoe is the Dutch-accented rendition of the word “Ubuntu,” a term of African origin, meaning “I am because we are,” and reflects a philosophy centered on community, interconnectedness, and shared humanity.

The Board

We work as “digital nomads” which allows nearly 100 percent of the money from donors and volunteers to go directly to the people in Uganda!

ANBI Certified NGO

Donating to an ANBI is a financially efficient way to support a non-profit because the organisation is legally obligated to allocate at least 90% of its resources directly to its mission, ensuring minimal overhead and maximum impact. Additionally, ANBI donations are often tax-deductible, allowing contributors to optimise their philanthropic spending while reducing taxable income.
