If you’re looking for volunteer opportunities in Uganda, you’ve come to the right place. You can take part in a range of activities aligned with your interests and skills — from education, sports & drama, swimming lessons to agriculture — or even combine several areas for a richer experience.
You’ll also have the chance to support the orphanage project run by Catholic nuns, where your contribution can make a real impact in the lives of children in need. Whether you’re passionate about teaching, the arts, farming, or caregiving, there’s a meaningful role waiting for you.
Thanks to our partnership with the Catholic Church, volunteers can stay with specially selected host families for as little as $250 per week, which includes project placement, accommodation and meals.
Not included are transport to and from the project and (a bit obvious but let’s just mention it) safari trips.
You’re free to volunteer anywhere you choose, as the Catholic Church operates schools and community projects throughout Uganda; if you’ve heard great things about Jinja or any other location, just let us know and, together with the Catholic Church, we’ll connect you with a suitable project and a grateful host family. Below is an overview of the projects we partner with, click on them to get more information when it comes to the activities, accommodation and overall experience.
Experience the best of Uganda by combining meaningful volunteer work with the adventure of a lifetime. Support local communities, help create jobs, and make a real difference in the lives of children and families. Your time and energy go directly into projects that matter—while connecting you with the warmth, resilience, and spirit of the Ugandan people.
To complete your journey, we’ve partnered with a trusted local safari company to offer our volunteers exclusive safaris at a special discounted rate. After or during your volunteering, unwind in the wild—spot elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos, and take in Uganda’s stunning landscapes. It’s a powerful blend of purpose and adventure you’ll never forget.
We do things differently from most volunteer organisations. We are not in Uganda to make money — our mission is to help people. That’s why the cost to volunteer with us is very low. In return, we ask you to show us why you would be a valuable addition to our projects. If we feel you can bring something meaningful, we would be delighted to host you!
